Canada is set to release its new housing price index for June at 8:30 am ET. The headline index is expected to have slowed by 0.1 percent to 0.2 percent on month and 2.3 percent on year.

The Canadian dollar held steady against its major rivals ahead of the report. As of 8:26 am ET, the loonie was trading at 1.2237 against the euro, 0.9945 against the US dollar and 78.97 against the yen.
