Long Time Speedway Motorsports Director Passes Away

Long time Speedway Motorsports, Inc. director, Robert L. Rewey,
passed away on Nov. 29, 2014. Rewey, 76, served on the Speedway
Motorsports Board of Directors since Nov. 8, 2001 following a
distinguished 38-year career with Ford Motor Company. Rewey retired
from Ford as Group Vice President of North American Operations and
Global Consumer Services. His career with Ford included management
of several areas including motorsport operations. He also served as
Ford’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.
“Bob Rewey was a tremendous leader not only with Ford Motor
Company, but also for the entire automotive industry,” said Bruton
Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Speedway
Motorsports. “He made significant contributions to Speedway
Motorsports. It is truly a sad time for us. Our thoughts and
prayers are with Bob’s family and many friends.”
