LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The Local Radio Company Plc. said it expects
total revenues for the first half to end-March 2008 to increase by 5 percent and
on a like-for-like basis by 4 percent, continuing the positive trend from last
year, despite an uncertain advertising market.
The local radio station owner also said total listening hours have increased
by 10 percent over the last 12 months from 6.9 million to 7.7 million hours.
It said revenues from national sales through its joint venture First Radio
Sales have been exceptionally strong, and it expects the business to maintain
this strong performance in the second half.
The company said even as on-line revenues are small at this stage, it has
already seen a three-fold increase in on-line sales in the second half and
expects this level of growth to continue for the rest of the year.
