BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Littelfuse Inc. Wednesday reported
third-quarter adjusted income of $10.9 million, or 48 cents a share, topping the
mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial of 43 cents a share.
The adjusted results exclude a one-time gain on the sale of excess land in
Ireland and restructuring charges related to plant shutdowns.
Revenue for the period ended Sept. 29 fell to $140.2 million, above Wall
Street's $136.9 million consensus. A year ago, the Des Plaines, Ill.-based
circuit protection and electrical fuses manufacturer posted revenue of $143.5
million.
Littelfuse said it expects fourth-quarter earnings of 33 cents to 37 cents a
share. For 2008, the company sees earnings of $1.80 to $1.90 a share.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial, on average, estimate fourth-quarter
earnings of 39 cents a share and 2008 full-year earnings of $2.04 a share.
Shares closed at $34.07 on Tuesday. The stock is up 9.7% year-to-date.
