LeCroy Selected to Join Russell 2000(R) and Russell 3000(R)
Indexes
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeCroy Corporation
(NASDAQ:LCRY), a leading worldwide provider of oscilloscopes and related test
and measurement equipment, today announced that it has been added to the
Russell 2000(R) and Russell 3000(R) Indexes.
"We are proud that the progress we have made at LeCroy during the past year has
resulted in our inclusion in the Russell indexes," said LeCroy President and
Chief Executive Officer Tom Reslewic. "LeCroy has achieved sustained
profitability by improving operating efficiencies, introducing new products to
targeted markets and growing revenues. We look forward to sharing this growth
story with a broader investor audience." The Russell 3000 Index measures the performance of the 3,000 largest public
companies in the United States, based on total market capitalization. The
Russell 2000 Index comprises the 2,000 smallest members of the Russell 3000.
Membership in Russell's 21 U.S. equity indexes is determined primarily by
market capitalization rankings and style attributes. Russell indexes are
widely used by managers for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and
active investment strategies. More than $360 billion is invested in index
funds based on Russell's indexes, and an additional $850 billion is benchmarked
to them. Investment managers who oversee these funds purchase shares of member
stocks according to that company's weighting in the particular index.
The Russell US Indexes are reconstituted annually in order to accurately rank
the 3,000 largest companies in the US stock market by market capitalization.
This realignment to updated market cap levels allows the indexes to provide a
truer reflection of stock market activity and performance.
