LeCroy Broadens Product Line with Launch of New Low-Cost Digital
Oscilloscopes
WaveSurfer Series of 200-500MHz Oscilloscopes Brings Company's Advanced
Technology to New Market Segment
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeCroy Corporation has
introduced a new line of oscilloscopes that will add a low- cost option to its
portfolio of WaveRunner, WavePro and WaveMaster instruments. The new WaveSurfer
series includes six models of two- and four- channel oscilloscopes with
bandwidths ranging from 200MHz to 500MHz. WaveSurfer represents the latest
initiative in LeCroy's strategy to increase its addressable portion of the
growing oscilloscope market.
"More than two years ago we set out to create new products that broaden LeCroy's
addressable market," said LeCroy President and Chief Executive Officer Tom
Reslewic. "We accomplished that objective at the high end with our WaveMaster
scopes and our new family of Serial Data Analyzers. These premium products have
become strong sellers, and have reinforced LeCroy's reputation for providing
excellent performance and great value. Like its high-end counterparts,
WaveSurfer delivers class-leading features and specifications, but at the lowest
price point we've ever offered." "In terms of both form factor and functionality, WaveSurfer scopes are designed
for the way users really work," said LeCroy Chief Operating Officer Scott
Bausback. "The SVGA touch screen display is 250 percent larger than other
scopes inWaveSurfer's class, yet its small footprint makes it convenient to
locate on the bench. Equally important, every WaveSurfer model excels in signal
capture time, documentation and connectivity in the 200MHz to 500MHz bandwidth
class, with very competitive pricing." "We have already begun familiarizing our sales force with WaveSurfer, and
initial feedback from the field is very positive," said Reslewic. "Not resting
on their laurels, our development team is making great progress on additional
new products that we expect to launch in the coming quarters. With strong
market demand and a great product offering for a broad spectrum of market
segments, fiscal 2004 is shaping up to be an excellent year for LeCroy." Safe Harbor Statement This release contains forward-looking statements pertaining to customer
