LeCroy Announces Analyzer System Targeted at Automotive Industry
CANbus Analyzer Extends Reach of WaveRunner 6000 Series
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y., May 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeCroy Corporation , a
leading worldwide provider of oscilloscopes and related test and measurement
equipment, today introduced a CANbus analyzer system called 'CANbus TD'.
CANbus TD is the Company's first test solution targeted at the automotive
industry and is intended to help automotive electronics engineers validate
designs involving the increasingly prevalent CAN serial data protocol developed
for automotive applications. CANbus TD is designed to be used with LeCroy's
popular WaveRunner 6000 series oscilloscopes.
"CANbus TD provides design engineers with a new tool to debug automotive
electronics systems and networks more quickly and accurately," said LeCroy
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Bausback. "By
improving the reliability of their systems and parts, automobile manufacturers
can lower costs -- an important advantage in this competitive industry where
half of the warranty problems on new vehicles stem from electronic system
failures. CANbus TD provides an essential first step in helping to reduce
those failures." "One of LeCroy's growth objectives is to secure key vertical markets with
innovative new products," said LeCroy President and Chief Executive Officer Tom
Reslewic. "Already, the WaveRunner 6000's market-leading performance in the
350 MHz to 2 GHZ class of oscilloscopes makes it the ideal general purpose
oscilloscope for a range of automotive applications. By adding CANbus TD,
automotive engineers will be able to measure electronic system signals more
precisely and compare them with design protocols to identify problems
intuitively that previously passed unrecognized through the development
process." About LeCroy Corporation LeCroy Corporation makes advanced instruments for measuring and analyzing
complex electronic signals. The Company's core products are high-performance
oscilloscopes used by design engineers in the computer and semiconductor, data
storage device, automotive and industrial, and military and aerospace markets. LeCroy's 40-year heritage of technical innovation is the foundation for its
recognized leadership in "WaveShape Analysis" -- capturing, viewing and
measuring the high-speed signals that drive today's information and
communications technologies. Targeting a growing billion-dollar global market,
LeCroy meets a broad spectrum of customer needs with four families of
oscilloscopes, and distributes these products through a worldwide direct sales
