BURLINGTON, Massachusetts,
June 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Attunity Ltd. (NASDAQ CM: ATTU), a
leading provider of information availability software solutions,
announced today that one of the largest online travel agencies in
the world has selected Attunity Visibility (formerly Appfluent
Visibility) to rebalance and modernize its data warehouse with
Hadoop. To date, the solution has enabled the company to save
$6 million by optimizing the business
utilization and performance of its data warehousing environment and
containing costs on further capacity investment. Attunity
Visibility enables the customer to rebalance its storage and
implement a charge-back system to the lines of business according
to individual data utilization levels. Attunity Visibility will be
demonstrated live at the Hadoop Summit, Booth #S22, in San Jose
from June 9-12.
The online travel company came to Attunity for assistance when
its 6+ petabyte production IT systems began to grow rapidly within
a multiple platform environment including Hadoop and several legacy
data warehouse systems. The Company realized that it needed to
better understand the business usage of its analytic data platforms
so that it could modernize and optimize its data warehousing
environment. Attunity Visibility solved their challenge by
providing a complete view of their Hadoop systems and legacy data
warehouses, and delivering data usage and workload performance
analytics in the context of their business units.
"By providing more visibility into the customer's enterprise
data warehousing environment, we were able to help them achieve a
more than 10x return on investment," said Shimon Alon, Chairman and
CEO at Attunity. "Using Attunity Visibility's data
usage analytics, our customer is now able to balance workloads and
data across its data warehousing environment and avoid additional
expenditures on capacity. Now our customer has full transparency of
its business and can measure usage by each department to justify
future investments in IT."
Attunity Visibility enables companies to balance the right
workload on the right system, revealing exactly how much and where
data is used or not used and identifying the root cause of database
performance issues that are impacting the business. By analyzing
workloads on Big Data systems, Attunity Visibility can show
enterprises how to optimize compute and storage across a wide
range of market-leading platforms, including Oracle, Teradata, IBM
DB2, IBM PureData (formerly known as IBM Netezza), and Hadoop.
