SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Lam Research Corp. late Thursday said it
expects revenue for the second quarter ended Dec. 23 of $610.3 million, versus
$684.6 million in the first quarter.
The Fremont, Calif.-based company also said it sees earnings before taxes
for the period of $161.3 million.
Shipments for the quarter came in at $593 million compared with $621 million
in the previous quarter, the company said.
The results are preliminary due the ongoing internal stock option review,
Lam Research said.
Shares of the company, which supplies wafer fabrication equipment and
services to the semiconductor industry, closed the regular session up 58 cents,
or about 1.4%, at $41.07.
