SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) - Kyphon Inc. shareholders approved the spinal
implant maker's $3.9 billion takeover by Medtronic Inc. at a Tuesday meeting.
In July, medical device maker Medtronic Inc. offered $71 per share for
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Kyphon.
Medtronic and Kyphon said Monday they received antitrust clearance in Spain,
Austria and Cyprus. The deal already received approval in Germany and is
awaiting clearance from antitrust authorities in Portugal and Turkey.
