Customers Looking to Stay Connected in All
Environments
Kyocera Communications, Inc. today announced the award-winning
DuraForce XD ruggedized 4G LTE Android™ smartphone launching at
T-Mobile, offering customers the first rugged option in the
T-Mobile portfolio. Ideal for the field-force worker and
adventurous consumer, the DuraForce XD’s large 5.7-inch
high-definition display makes it the perfect mobile device for
viewing documents, forms, schedules and other media.
Starting May 11, the DuraForce XD will be available online and
at participating T-Mobile stores nationwide for $449.99 (Standard
Retail Price).
“Kyocera is thrilled to help T-Mobile introduce its first
ruggedized device to its mobile portfolio with the launch of the
DuraForce XD,” said Chuck Becher, vice president and general
manager of sales and marketing, Kyocera Communications. “As a
leader in rugged mobile devices, Kyocera prioritizes usable
durability at an incredible price. With the new DuraForce XD,
T-Mobile customers will benefit from enhanced productivity with a
large-display format, as well as cost-savings.”
The DuraForce XD recently won the prestigious 2016 Red Dot Award
for outstanding product design in the “Industry, Machinery and
Robotics” category. It is certified to Military Standard 810G to
withstand dust, drop, shock, vibration, temperature extremes,
blowing rain, low pressure/high altitude, solar radiation, salt
fog, humidity and water immersion. It is also certified to IP68 as
dustproof and able to withstand full submersion in water up to 6
feet deep for up to 30 minutes. Its durable design lets users
confidently operate the device without a protective case, and
provides not only “survivability” but also “usability” in harsh
environments. DuraForce XD’s large touchscreen display can even be
operated when wet or with gloved hands.
The DuraForce XD runs on T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G LTE network,
and has extra-loud dual front speakers. The device also features a
Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor with a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU and a
sizeable 3,700mAh battery to keep up with long days that business
consumers typically face. It is OSHA certified for use in hazardous
work locations where flammable gases, vapors, or mists are not
normally present in an explosive concentration but may accidentally
materialize (Non-incendive, Class I, Division 2, Groups A-D,
T4).
