NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Kosan Biosciences Inc. Tuesday said that its
product, tanespimycin, showed a "high level" of antitumor activity in a Phase II
trials when combined with trastuzumab.
The drug was used to treat patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast
cancer.
In the trial, 63% of the 27 patients showed some sort of clinical benefit,
including partial response, tumor regression or extended disease stability.
Shares of Kosan closed Monday at $5.43. The stock is up about 51% since the
start of the year.
