WARSAW (Thomson Financial) - Management at Polish copper miner KGHM will
publish amended proposals for a dividend payout on last year's profit next week,
the company's chief executive said today, declining to give further details.
"We will present new dividend proposal at the supervisory board meeting on
May 16," Miroslaw Krutin told a news conference after the company's first
quarter results.
"It's highly likely that the proposal will change. There is one factor that
we have to consider, which is money set aside to raise stake in Polkomtel."
Previous management at the miner, Europe's biggest copper producer, earlier
this year proposed paying out 29 percent of last year's net profit as dividend.
Chief Financial Officer Maciej Tybura added that the company is reviewing
its 2008 forecast and will present its revisions in the next few weeks.
