Jeff Balagna, Medtronic Senior Vice President and CIO, Joins
Tennant Company Board of Directors
MINNEAPOLIS, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tennant Company (NYSE:TNC) today
announced that Jeff Balagna will join the company's board of directors
effective June 1, 2004. With this addition, the board will have eight members.
Balagna is senior vice president and chief information officer for Medtronic,
Inc. He joined Medtronic in March 2001. At Medtronic, Balagna is responsible
for information technology and global coordination and integration of
Medtronic's Shared Services and E-Solutions areas. He also leads Medtronic's
efforts to optimize systems, streamline customer interactions and ensure
quality, efficiency and productivity in multiple functional areas, including
product distribution, customer and patient services and sales force automation,
among others.

supply chain management, and the use of information technology to improve
operating effectiveness, quality and customer service," said Janet Dolan,

him join us." Before joining Medtronic, Balagna served as general manager, operations and
e-business, for General Electric Medical Systems-Americas, where he had
previously served as chief information officer. Balagna has also held
executive-level information technology positions at GE Consumer Motors and
Controls and at Ford Motor Company.
Balagna holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Oakland University
and is a graduate of General Electric's Global Business Management Program. He
currently serves as a director of Minnesota Public Radio and is also a member
of the Research Board.
