James R. Hays, most recently a Member of the Labor and Employment
Practice Group at Heller Ehrman, has joined Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris,
Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. as a Member in the New York office, practicing
in the Employment, Labor and Benefits Section.
Mr. Hays has extensive experience in numerous areas of labor and
employment law. Over the course of his career, he has advised scores of
clients in collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations and
all stages of the labor election process, including election campaigns
and hearings before the National Labor Relations Board. He has also
represented clients in proceedings before various administrative
agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the
United States Department of Labor and state agencies throughout the
country.
Mr. Hays is often called upon to counsel employers on workplace issues
such as strategies for handling harassment, internal investigations,
staff reductions, discipline and termination actions and wage and hour
issues. He frequently advises clients on personnel matters, including
the preparation and administration of employment strategies and
personnel policies.

Mr. Hays graduated from Catholic University and New York Law School. He
is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut as well as the U.S.
District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New
York, Western District of Michigan and District of Connecticut.
