Cobb County Water System Working to Support Growing Georgia County

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today it was awarded a construction management services re-compete contract in support of the Cobb County Water System’s 2015-2020 Capital Improvement Program in Georgia.

Jacobs is providing professional, technical and administrative services, as well as other skilled personnel to perform activities associated with water, wastewater and storm water facilities construction; and utility locate services.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Senior Vice President and General Manager Buildings & Infrastructure, Americas, Randy Pierce stated, “We’re very pleased by the opportunity to continue our relationship with the Water System and keep its projects moving forward successfully.”

The win is a testimony to Jacobs’ long-term commitment of quality and service to Cobb County as a client and is indicative of a Jacobs foundation project: a stable, long-term contract that helps clients streamline their operations and processes to deliver cost-effective capital projects.

Jacobs is providing construction management for all aspects of water and sewer system replacement and rehabilitation projects for the Cobb County Water System. To date, the program has resulted in the execution of over 70 projects and $82 million in infrastructure construction and 879,200 utility locates. This contract supports the County’s Capital Improvement Program. While all eyes are on the new Braves Stadium and its effect on infrastructure in the area, the County is also undergoing a tremendous population growth—13.2 percent from 2000-2010 according to the Development Authority of Cobb County, and a similar growth trend is forecasted through 2030.

With an office in Cobb County, Jacobs has been providing design and construction management for signature projects since 1993, including the South Cobb Tunnel and Lift Station, the Chattahoochee Tunnel, the Northwest Cobb WRF Expansion and the R.L. Sutton WRF Liquid Process and Solids Handling Replacement Project.

Jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional and construction services.
