SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. late
Monday reported second-quarter net earnings of $50.6 million, or 39 cents a
share, versus $63.9 million, or 45 cents a share, a year earlier.
Results for the most recent quarter include a $10.3 million, or
7-cent-per-share, benefit from the settlement of a tax adjustment, the Lowell,
Ark.-based trucking and logistics company said.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for a per-share
profit of 36 cents.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose to $977.3 million from $855.9
million in the year-earlier period, above the consensus view of $925 million.
The stock closed the regular session up 3 cents at $32.51.
