MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Economy minister Giulio Tremonti said the
government is seeking a solution for Alitalia SpA that would make the airline
privately owned and keep it in Italian hands.
"We are seeking a solution which is Italian and fundamentally private," he
said in an interview broadcast by the RAI 3 television channel on Sunday.
Tremonti said Berlusconi's new government was still committed to attracting
Italian investors to acquire Alitalia, which is 49.9 percent state-owned.
