MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - India's Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T), said it has
won orders worth 3.44 billion rupees from the state-run Power Grid Corp. of
India Ltd., for the construction of 755 km of transmission lines in the western
region of the country.
In a regulatory filing, the engineering and construction company said the
project, which involves survey, fabrication and supply of towers and erection,
will be completed in 30 months.
At 11.24 am local time, L&T shares rose 3.09 percent to 3,238.00 rupees, and
those of Power Grid Corp. fell by 0.38 percent to 106.05 rupees, while the
Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex gained 0.36 percent at 17,663.10.
