NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Illumina Inc. late Tuesday reported
third-quarter earnings of $14.5 million, or 24 cents per share, down 10.3% from
$16.2 million or 32 cents a share, in the year ago-period.
Excluding certain items, the company posted adjusted earnings of $19.9
million, or 34 cents a share, versus $19.9 million, or 39 cents a share, last
year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial were expecting, on average, a per-share
profit of 19 cents a share.
Revenue in the period ended Sept. 30 rose 82% to $97.5 million, above Wall
Street's consensus view of $94 million.
The life-sciences tools maker said it expects fourth-quarter revenue of $100
million to $104 million and adjusted profit of $19 million to $21 million, or 32
cents to 35 cents a share.
