SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Activist investor Carl Icahn has
rejected an offer by Motorola Inc. for two seats on the company's board,
according to a media report late Monday.
Icahn, who is trying to secure four seats on the company's board through a
proxy fight, was unwilling to accept Motorola's conditions for the seats, the
Wall Street Journal reported.
Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola had offered to put two of Icahn's nominees
on the board but said it didn't want to seat Icahn nominee Keith Meister, the
report said.
Shares of Motorola closed at $9.69.
