IMAX Corp. said Monday that it reached an agreement with Warner
Bros. Pictures to release up to 30 films over the next five years,
continuing the companies' 10-year partnership.
Under the agreement, IMAX will release movies including Batman v
Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Tarzan movie and future Lego
movies.
Earlier this month, IMAX reached a three-year deal with Walt
Disney Studios that covers animated and live-action films such as
the new "Star Wars" movie.
The movie-theater chain, which has been planning to open new
theaters in China in the second half of the year, has said it would
sell a 20% stake in its Chinese business this year to two
China-focused investors, a deal that IMAX hopes will pave the way
for expansion and an eventual public listing.
