IDEX Announces Retirement Plans of CFO Wayne Sayatovic; Appoints Dominic Romeo
To Succeed Him
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IDEX Corporation today
announced the intention of its current Senior Vice President - Finance and Chief
Financial Officer, Wayne P. Sayatovic, 57, to retire in February 2004. The
Company has appointed Dominic A. Romeo to succeed him as vice president and
chief financial officer. Romeo, 43, currently serves as vice president - chief
financial officer for Honeywell Aerospace. He will join IDEX in January.
Commenting on the succession, IDEX Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dennis
K. Williams said, "We commend Wayne for his 32 years of exceptional leadership
at IDEX and its predecessor company, Houdaille Industries. Wayne played a
pivotal role in the company's initial public offering in 1989 and has been
instrumental in the growth of IDEX to a nearly $800 million diversified
manufacturing company. The Board, the employees of IDEX and I extend our thanks
and appreciation to Wayne for his contributions. He has given the company a
strong foundation on which to grow.

initiatives." Romeo has been with Honeywell International, and Allied Signal prior to the
merger, for nine years. He currently serves as vice president - chief financial
officer for Honeywell's $9 billion aerospace segment. Prior to Honeywell, Romeo
served as vice president - finance for AAR Trading, an aircraft and parts
aftermarket and trading organization; in financial planning and analysis with GE
Aircraft Engines; and in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Romeo
is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an undergraduate degree from
Manchester College.
