The Story Behind Chili's Baby Back Ribs
Chili's Baby
Back Ribs were first introduced to the menu in 1986.
- Smoked in house – Since ribs were added to the Chili's
menu thirty years ago, they have always been smoked in house
- Natural pecan wood – To bring out the bold,
mouth-watering flavor of ribs, Chili's smokes ribs in house over
pecan wood
- Low and slow is key – For tender ribs, Chili's smokes
the ribs first, then slow cooks them at 212º
- Secret Seasoning – Chili's signature rib flavor is
because of the secret seasoning used before putting the ribs to
smoke in house
- Get Saucy – Guests have four sauce options for their
ribs, Original, Dr Pepper®, Craft Beer or the new Honey
Chipotle
The 30-year Milestone
To celebrate Chili's rich
history of Baby Back Ribs, the brand is offering guests a

The Jingle's Celebrity Appearances
The famous
ribs and jingle have popped up on various television series,
including "Scrubs," "The Office," "Will & Grace," and most
recently, "Workaholics." Versions of the jingle have been performed
by 'N Sync, the boxing champion Evander
Holyfield, USA's Olympic
gold medal gymnast Dominique Dawes
and "The Tonight Show" former host Jay
Leno. Advertising Age magazine named the song first
on its list of "10 songs most likely to get stuck in your head" in
2004. Perhaps the most memorable rendition of the jingle was
performed by Mike Myers' character,
Fat Bastard, in the 1999 smash movie, "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me."
Now, for this milestone year, Chili's is bringing back the
jingle with a new TV commercial featuring Chili's Chef Jason Amell, musicians, song writers and guests.
In 2016, the brand also re-did the jingle in emoji form - watch it
