(Hologic or the Company) (Nasdaq: HOLX), a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostics products, medical imaging systems and surgical products dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of women, announced today that Robert A. Cascella, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hologic, the women's health company, was honored last week by the American Cancer Society at the 7th annual Key Gala benefitting the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center in Boston.  The event raised more than one million dollars, a fundraising record for the gala.

"We are proud to support the American Cancer Society and the Boston Hope Lodge," said Mr. Cascella. "For many patients, Hope Lodge is a life-changing experience that provides a safe, comfortable, supportive environment.  Hope Lodge gives patients the support they need to gain their strength back and get back on their feet, something Hologic as a company strives to do for women globally every day."

"In honoring Rob Cascella, a champion of early cancer detection, we are paying tribute to a leader and a company who work every day to positively impact the lives of women and others who are fighting or have overcome cancer," said Don Gudaitis, Chief Executive Officer of the American Cancer Society New England Division.  "Hologic's passion for fighting cancer is not just about making innovative products that help save lives, but it is about instilling a culture of charitable giving at all levels of the company."

Hologic was one of the lead corporate donors in bringing the Hope Lodge Center to Boston and has served as a sponsor for the Hope Lodge Invitational.  Mr. Cascella is a member of the American Cancer Society's New England Chapter of CEOs Against Cancer, a volunteer forum of CEOs that helps to improve the health of employees, organizations and surrounding communities by raising awareness on how to prevent illness, maintain wellness, find cures and fight back against cancer.
