Act 1985 ("the Act"), that at the close of business on 27 September 2006, The
Goldman Sachs Group, Inc had a notifiable interest, by attribution only, in
38,395,094 10 pence ordinary shares of MFI Furniture Group Plc (6.11 per cent of
the issued share capital).
