Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF), a global nutrition and direct selling
company, paid out a record $34 million in annual bonuses to independent
distributors at its Mark Hughes Bonus Award ceremony in Singapore. The
highest check was for a record $2 million, with six checks of $1 million
or more.
The gala took place at the Suntec International Convention Centre where
Herbalife independent distributors from 60 countries were feted at a
black-tie affair which followed several days of meetings, celebration
and recognition.
The total bonus pool eligible for distribution is one percent of retail
sales. Chairman and CEO Michael O. Johnson and President and COO Greg
Probert presided over the award ceremony.
Herbalife Family Foundation
The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) raised a record $600,000 at its
annual fundraiser. Later, the HFF presented its Humanitarian Award to
Thomas Hayes of Ridgefield, Conn. The award is presented to an Herbalife
independent distributor who exemplifies the foundation’s
mission and through their outstanding involvement and dedication, has
made a significant contribution to changing lives worldwide.
As a weekly volunteer at the Terrence Cardinal Cooke Health Center
(TCCHC), Hayes commutes to the facility in Harlem, N.Y., where he
brightens the days of patients too ill or disabled to leave the center.
The only center of its kind in New York state, the TCCHC is particularly
close to Tom’s heart as it provides a home and
dignified lifestyle for those living with chronic illnesses –
the elderly, severely disabled children, and people with AIDS, Alzheimer’s,
Huntington’s disease or kidney failure.
