NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Healthcare Services Group Inc. reported late
Tuesday first-quarter net income of $6.9 million, or 16 cents a share, compared
with $7.5 million, or 17 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for 18 cents a
share for the period.
Revenue for the period ended March 31 rose to $147.3 million from last
year's $141.2 million. Analysts had expected revenue of $153.2 million.
Additionally, the Bensalem, Pa.-based provider of professional housekeeping,
laundry and food services said its board has approved an increase of 8% in its
first-quarter cash dividend to 14 cents per share. The dividend will be paid on
May 12 to shareholders of record on April 25.
The stock closed the regular session at $20.40.
