ATLANTA, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Haverty Furniture Companies, Inc. (NYSE:HVTNYSE:andNYSE:HVT.A) today reported sales for the month ended July 31, 2008.
Havertys' July sales decreased 7.3% to $62.9 million, compared with $67.8 million in July 2007. On a comparable-store basis, July sales decreased 10.0%. Comparable-store sales do not include stores or locations opened, closed or otherwise non-comparable during the last 12 months. Sales for the first seven months of 2008 decreased 6.6% to $416.5 million compared with $446.0 million in 2007. On a comparable-store basis, sales decreased 9.5% for the first seven months.
