Global industrial company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its Harsco Metals & Minerals division has been named Global Slag Company of the Year at the 12th Annual Global Slag Conference and Exhibition. The conference, held recently in Düsseldorf, Germany, is billed as the single largest annual slag event in the world, attended by major steelmakers, service providers and associated companies.

The award is presented to the slag or slag-product-producing organization that has been deemed most professional and forward-looking in the preceding year. At last year’s conference, Harsco Metals & Minerals was similarly recognized for its STEELSTOP® high friction surfacing material for roadways, which was named Slag Product of the Year.
