HSBC Appoints Antonio Simoes HSBC Bank CEO; Replaces Alan Kier

LONDON--HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBC), the parent company of the HSBC
Group, said Tuesday it has appointed Antonio Simoes Chief Executive
of HSBC Bank PLC and Chief Executive of Europe from Sept. 1,
replacing Alan Keir who will step down on Sept. 30 and retire March
31, 2016.
He will also join the group management board, HSBC said.
Mr. Simoes joined HSBC in 2007. He was appointed head of retail
banking and wealth Management for Europe in January 2012 and in
November that same year was appointed chief executive of the U.K.
Bank and deputy chief executive, HSBC Bank.
Mr. Keir joined HSBC in 1981 and has worked in a variety of
roles before being appointed to his current position in October
2013.
