SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Google Inc. Web sites were visited more
than those of any other company in April, drawing an estimated unique audience
of 128.2 million, Nielsen Online said Thursday.
Microsoft Corp.-owned sites followed close behind in second place, with an
estimated 122.1 million unique views, followed by Yahoo Inc. Web sites, which
drew an estimated unique audience of 117.1 million, Nielsen said.
Among the top 10-rated online parent companies, viewers spent the most time
at Time Warner Inc. Web sites -- an average of 3 hours, 40 minutes -- and the
least time at Wikimedia Foundation's Wikipedia -- an average of 17 minutes, 52
seconds, according to the research company.
Google shares rose 5.4% to $581.39, Microsoft stock climbed 1.8% to $30.42,
Yahoo shares fell 3 cents to $27.10 and Time Warner shares gained 16 cents to
$16.43.
