ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Givaudan SA said it has sold its food
ingredient business and manufacturing facility based in St Louis, United States,
to Performance Chemicals & Ingredients Company for an undisclosed sum.
The sale is in line with its strategy to focus on high-value flavouring
additives and is part of its ongoing product streamlining process, said the
Swiss flavour and fragrance maker.
The divested business generated sales of 40 mln sfr in 2007.
The divestiture does not include the vanilla extract and flavour business
which will continue to be a part of the Givaudan product portfolio, added the
group.
