MDAX - down 48.42 points, or 0.51 percent, at 9,506.76
TecDAX - down 7.53 points, or 0.88 percent, at 844.68
DAX futures - down 3.50 points, or 0.05 percent, at 7,077.00
Major Decliners:
-Deutsche Boerse, down 1.38 euros, or 1.36 percent, at 100.40, under
pressure after posting disappointing April numbers for its Eurex derivatives
exchange and Xetra cash equities platform.
-ThyssenKrupp, down 0.41 euros, or 0.99 percent, at 40.98
-Deutsche Telekom, down 0.10 euros, or 0.85 percent, at 11.69, after a media
report said the telecom giant is discussing a bid for either a minority stake or
majority control of Sprint Nextel Corp.
-Hypo Real Estate, down 0.16 euros or 0.67 percent at 23.66, ahead of
first-quarter results to be released on Tuesday that are seen coming in sharply
lower than last year's numbers.
-Commerzbank, 0.15 euros, or 0.63 percent, lower at 23.75.
Major Gainers:
-Deutsche Post, up 0.41 euros, or 2.03 percent, at 20.64, after the mail and
package carrier said in a trading statement on Monday business in the first
quarter was very satisfactory and underlying profits will progress year-on-year
in line with targets and guidance.
-Merck, up 0.87 euros, or 0.95 percent, at 92.51
-MAN, up 0.82 euros, or 0.90 percent, at 91.83
-Daimler, up 0.35 euros, or 0.72 percent, at 91.67
-Henkel, up 0.16 euros, or 0.57 percent, at 28.02
