BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- The German government said Friday that General Motor Co. signals it wants to explain its plans for the future of its German arm Adam Opel GmbH next week, a government spokesman said Friday.
"The German government will wait for these explanations and will examine them," deputy spokesman Christoph Steegmans said Friday at a conference in Berlin.
He declined to say if German Chancellor Angela Merkel will address this topic when meeting with US foreign minister Hillary Clinton.
