MOSCOW--Gazprom OAO (GAZP.RS) aims to produce 485.4 billion
cubic meters of natural gas in 2015, RIA news agency quoted Vitaly
Markelov, the deputy chairman of the Russian energy giants
management committee as saying on Tuesday, nearly 10% higher than
last year.
Gazprom, which is Russia's only gas exporter, produced 443.9
billion cubic meters of gas in 2014, one of its lowest production
figures, as the company sees slower output at its major gas
fields.
Sales also fell last year as Europe, its biggest market, tries
to cut its dependence on Russian gas. Sales domestically also
slowed as Russia faces an economic slowdown.
Gazprom said last week its net profit plunged by 86%, or nearly
$20 billion, in 2014 due to the weakness of the ruble and one-off
charges.
