SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - FuelCell Energy Inc. late Wednesday
reported a first-quarter net loss of $18.9 million, or 29 cents a share,
compared with a net loss of $19.2 million, or 38 cents a share, during the year
earlier.
There were 68.2 million shares outstanding in the latest quarter versus 53.2
million last year.
Revenue for the three months ended Jan. 31 rose to $15 million from $6.83
million last year.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for a
per-share loss of 24 cents on revenue of $16.2 million.
Shares of the Danbury, Conn.-based maker of fuel cell power plants for
electric power generation closed the regular session up 19 cents, or about 2.7%,
at $7.29.
