Further to its announcement on 12 February of the approval by shareholders of a
merger with Lihir Gold Ltd, Ballarat Goldfields NL (the "Company") wishes to
advise that the listing of its shares on AIM is currently scheduled to be
cancelled at 7am on 26 February 2007. As previously announced, trading in the
Company's shares on the Australian Stock Exchange is also expected to cease on
that date. This follows expected court approval for the merger on 23 February.
