PARIS--New car registrations in France rose 15% in June as
Peugeot and foreign car brands posted strong sales, according to
data released by the country's car manufacturers' association
Wednesday.
Sales of cars in June rose to 225,645, up from 196,233 in June
2014. PSA Peugeot Citroen's Peugeot brand saw its sales grow 20.4%
last month compared with the same period in 2014, according to a
release by the industry group CCFA. Meanwhile, Renault SA's
namesake brand grew at 9.9%.
Overall, foreign cars continued strong growth, outpacing the
entire market with an 18.9% increase in sales on the month. Sales
of Volkswagen-branded cars were particularly strong, with sales

Car sales in France extended its strong start to the year and
are a sharp contrast to the sluggish 2014 when volumes increased
just 0.3% for the year. Over the first six months of 2015, retail
car sales in France have increased 6.1%.
