PARIS--The consumption of gasoline and diesel fuel in France dropped 4.4% in May from a year earlier, incorporating a 8.2% drop in unleaded supergasoline consumption, and a 3.6% drop in diesel fuel consumption, according to data released Wednesday by the French oil industry association.
Between June 2011 and May this year, gasoline consumption in France fell 1.9% and over the first five months of the year, gasoline consumption fell 2.5% from a year earlier, UFIP also said.
