SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Franklin Electric Co. late Monday
reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $5.46 million, or 23 cents a share,
versus $14.1 million, or 60 cents a share, a year earlier.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for a
per-share profit of 41 cents.
Restructuring expenses and inventory-related charges reduced per-share
earnings by around 10 a share in its most recent quarter, the company said.
Revenue at the Bluffton, Ind.-based provider of industrial electrical
equipment rose to $153.7 million from $147.9 million a year ago, in line with
the mean analyst estimate.
The stock fell 65 cents to $30.92 at the closing bell.
