BEIJING -(Dow Jones)- Ford Motor Co. (F) said Tuesday sales by its passenger vehicle-making joint venture with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. (000625.SZ) rose 80% in October from a year earlier to 20,027 units.
The venture's passenger vehicle sales in the January-October period rose 40% from the same period last year to 188,244 units, the U.S. auto maker also said in a statement, without providing year-earlier figures.
"We are confident that the demand from Chinese consumers...will carry strong sales momentum through to the end of the year," said Nigel Harris, general manager of the joint venture.
