STOCKHOLM--Swedish fingerprint technology company Fingerprint Cards AB (FING-B.SK) Monday named Jorgen Lantto as its new chief executive officer, replacing Johan Carlstrom who has led the company since 2009.

Mr. Lantto has been acting CEO since September 2014 having been recruited to the company as chief technology officer in December 2012.

Mr. Carlstrom is to remain with Fingerprint Cards and focus on business development, the company said.

Fingerprint cards has pursued rapid growth over recent years and sales increased under Mr. Carlstrom from 27 million kronor ($3.2 million) to a forecast of SEK1.5 billion for 2015. Staff numbers have risen from 13 to 180 under his leadership.

The company raised its revenue guidance as recently as last week after orders for its products rose faster than expected.
