(NYSE:FGP), one of the nation's largest propane distributors, announced today the recent acquisitions of Puget Sound Propane in Lacey, WA, and Yankee Gas in Middleton, MA. These acquisitions mark Ferrellgas' seventh and eighth, respectively, of its fiscal year, which began August 1, 2006.
Ferrellgas' acquisition of Puget Sound Propane expands its service coverage in western Washington and makes Ferrellgas a seamless provider in the Northwest area along the I-5 corridor.
The acquisition of Yankee Gas provides the company a presence in a propane-rich, major Northeast market and represents the consolidation of its largest, third party distributor of its Blue Rhino brand. Yankee's propane operations service both residential and industrial/commercial customers in Boston and its surrounding suburbs and provides Ferrellgas the ability to expand north into both New Hampshire and Maine.
