The union representing FedEx Corp. pilots said Thursday that it reached a tentative agreement on an amended collective bargaining agreement with the delivery giant.

The Air Line Pilots Association, International, said that the tentative agreement, which would last through 2021, must still be approved by the union's executive council. After that step, it will be put to a vote for ratification by more than 4,000 FedEx pilots.

Terms of the agreement aren't being released, the union said. Negotiations on this agreement started in 2011 and formal bargaining began in January 2013. The two parties entered a mediation process after FedEx filed with the National Mediation Board in October 2014, the union added.

FedEx confirmed the parties have reached a tentative agreement. "We are grateful to both negotiating committees who worked so hard to reach this agreement, which contains great value for our pilots and FedEx Express," a company spokesman said in a statement.
