Facebook Inc. (FB) is joining an effort by California Attorney General Kamala Harris that will require a written privacy policy on each app in its new App Center describing what information the app collects and how it shares the information, The Los Angeles Times reported on Friday.
Harris signed on Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc. (GOOG), Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN), Research in Motion Ltd. (RIMM) and Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) in February to privacy protection agreements for their apps.
