NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. Friday named
Gabriel Panayotides acting chief executive officer, pending the closure of the
company's acquisition of Quintana Maritime.
Panayotides is Excel's chairman.
Shares of Excel, an Athens, Greece-based shipping company, closed Thursday
at $37.46.
