ICJR Transatlantic Congress Featured
Pasquale Petrera, MD, on ExactechGPS® Guided Personalized
Surgery

biologic materials, recounted today the significant number of
scientific posters and presentations regarding its latest
advancements for knee, hip and shoulder replacement surgery that
have been presented during key medical technology conferences over
the past month.

International Scientific Presentations Feature Exactech Hip
and Knee Innovations
During the International Congress for Joint Replacement’s (ICJR)
Transatlantic Orthopaedic Congress in New York, Oct. 3-5, Pasquale
Petrera, MD, presented “Navigated Total Knee Arthroplasty is No
Slower than Conventional Instrumented TKA.” This study documents
Dr. Petrera’s clinical experience with ExactechGPS®, the company’s
guided, personalized surgery system.
ExactechGPS was also the subject of lectures presented at the
Korean national symposium on computer assisted orthopaedic surgery,
CAOS-Korea 2014, Sept. 19. The program included a presentation
co-authored by Ralph Liebelt, MD, on the use of the image-free
computer assisted guidance system.
Two presentations and six e-posters on hip and knee implant
design, materials and instrumentation, including ExactechGPS, were
featured at the International Society for Technology (ISTA) in
Arthroplasty, Sept. 24-27 in Japan.
Shoulder Courses Feature Exactech’s Equinoxe® Shoulder
System
The third annual Shoulder Course by the International Congress
for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR) held in Las Vegas, Sept. 18-20,
featured four lectures on the use of Exactech’s Equinoxe® platform
shoulder system. Emilie Cheung, MD, Richard Friedman, MD, FRCSC,
and Howard Routman, DO, shared their clinical experiences using the
Equinoxe shoulder to address glenoid management, reverse total
shoulder arthroplasty and revision shoulder surgery.
Exactech’s shoulder system was also featured in podium
presentations by Pierre-Henri Flurin, MD, at the European Society
for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (also known as SECEC)
2014, Sept. 17-20 in Istanbul.
