The euro strengthened against the other major currencies ahead of European session on Monday.

The euro rose to 1.5123 against the Australian dollar for the first time since December 2014, from an early low of 1.5062.

Against the pound and the U.S. dollar, the euro advanced to near 2-week highs of 0.7101 and 1.1039 from early lows of 0.7066 and 1.0968, respectively.

The euro climbed rose slightly to 1.0579 against the Swiss franc, from an early low of 1.0576. This may be compared to an early 4-month high of 1.0582.

Moving away from early lows of 1.4294 against the Canadian dollar and 135.74 against the yen, the euro edged up to 1.4359 and 136.25, respectively.

If the euro extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.53 against the aussie, 0.72 against the pound, 1.12 against the greenback, 1.06 against the franc, 1.45 against the loonie and 138.00 against the yen.
