LONDON (Thomson Financial) - EnCore Oil Plc. said a rig has been contracted
to appraise the Breagh gas discovery, with the drilling programme expected to
begin in early July.
The ENSCO 70 drilling rig will execute the appraisal programme for the
Breagh discovery at U.K. North Sea Block 42/13.
The rig is contracted to dig two wells and the contract allows the
flexibility to drill additional wells if considered necessary, based on the
results of two-well programme, EnCore said.
It added that the original Breagh gas discovery was made in 1997 and well
42/13-3 tested at rates up to 17.6 million cubic feet per day.
EnCore has a 15 percent interest in the licence and operator Sterling
Resources Ltd. has 45 percent.
